Kasab’s Confession

Kasab’s Confession

On July 20, Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab, confessed before the court that he was involved in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. Well this was a shock not only to the court and police department but also to entire country. Question is why was this sudden u turn?
This question was asked by the Judge M.L. Tahilyani to Kasab. Well his reply is certainly not very convincing.

This is the question which is disturbing me. Is US has any role in this? There is another question, how did Kasab know that Pakistan has accepted him as the Pak national? Well there is some thing fishy going on. I think someone has forced him to change his stance.
May be Pakistan has ordered him. May be he succumbed to the police pressure.

But there is some drama going on between, India, Pakistan and US. I think this whole drama is dictated by US. And I don’t believe in Indian government. Indian government is very lethargic in tackling terrorism.

Indian politicians or Indian government is inefficient in tackling the issue of terrorism and Pakistan. The dispute with Pakistan in unresolved for about 60 years. In these yrars many issues have been resolved in the world. Indian government should evolve serious plans to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

As of now India doesn’t have a politician who has any impact on the world, as Jawaharlal Nehru had. India is not certainly trying to influence the world or has any influence on world politics. Our neighbour China is far ahead in this matter. This why we cannot resolve many international disputes concerning India. Indian politicians are neglecting the management of foreign relation for decades now.

And now America’s influence on India is currently increasing. America as we know is driven by capitalist interests. And build relations based on this. America certainly has influence on Pakistan. And one can say that, the threat of Islamic terrorism faced by world is, created by America either directly or indirectly. For eg. Growth of Taliban. US has nourished the growth of Taliban with all means, of course with the help of Pakistan. Taliban was created with the aim to oppose Soviet influence in cold war era. And it has also supported terrorist outfits aimed at India, with the aim to stop the growth by India, as then India had more relationship with Soviet Union. China also took this opportunity to attack India, indirectly. China has always seen India has its rival. It has never been friendly with India. It has resolved border disputes all other countries except India. Why?

And Indian government has failed to develop a proactive approach to resolve these issues. It has increasingly failed to tackle terrorism. When terrorism is curbed in one part of India, it resurfaces in another part. It has weak Intelligence system. It does not have a professional intelligence group. IB is often headed by police officers in the IPS cadre, who may have served in the state police department. I think we should have specially trained intelligence cadre. If proper intelligence investigation is there then it is possible to stop many terrorist attacks. In us after Sep 11 attack there was no major terrorist attack. Why? Of course they have good intelligence system and have strong political will power. They are so powerful that they can influence any country to act according to their will.
Well India certainly is not a wealthy country like US but it still can do this because it has the potential. What needed is a strong political will power and efficient governance.

As far as Mumbai attack is concerned, it has shown us that how weak our system is. If we analyze all the incidents that took place on that day, it is really is pathetic. The news channels had started to show the incident from 11 pm onwards. When I switched to some news channel, they were showing scenes in the restaurant where blood were splattered all over. The channel were then saying that it was the result of gang war. It was only in the early morning that it was realized that it was a terrorist attack.

Then it was heard that Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) chief Hemant Karkare was killed, who was in the news recently. The death of Karkare caused me think, is our police well trained to deal such attacks. It was shown that Karkare was wearing some makeshift outfit, in a vague manner. Was he facing the terrorist directly without any proper cover? Obviously there was some errors with the dealing the terrorists that caused his death. Same thing can be seen with the police officer in Delhi, who was killed in an encounter with the terrorists, who were hiding in some flat. They are not trained how to tackle an armed criminal, in a conflict or armed operation or are not uptodate.

Secondly, why did it took more than three days to curtail the attack? Well there were all sorts of paramilitary and other forces surrounding the hotel. There was naval commando force. Then why did they wait for the NSG. Was NSG the only force in India to deal with such a situation? And the chaos around the hotel was very pathetic. Some army men lying all around, some were running and above all the media persons were all around.

The TV journalists used most of the situation. The police was very lazy in controlling the media. The live footages showed some journalists were very close to the site, covering every movement of the force. I think the media and all other people should be moved away as far as possible and live coverage should be prohibited. The crowd management was also poor. I was shocked to see that people were roaming around, were the battle between forces and terrorists were going on. It was extremely dangerous and serious lapse from the police force. There were some deaths due to the stray bullets.

It was such a mess. One more thing it was shown that the crowd were greeting the NSG men, hugging them, shaking their hands, well I was thinking that at that moment any terrorist hiding within the crowd could have attacks these army men.

Well, I don’t know whether the officials or the government has learned any thing from all this incidents. At least the Mumbai police department should learn something. I thing the first thing they should do is throw away all the 303 rifles, have at least some SLRs (Self loading rifle). They should be given state of the art technologies, and also good salary package. I should say all the 303 rifles should be replaced in all police forces all around India. As terrorism has now become global.

And we the citizens should have more awareness about these matters. We should force the government to take necessary steps in this regard, by all the means we could.

I should say ‘ Jago India Jago’.
